15 questions that are commonly asked about LTP.

1)  What is "LTP"?

LTP stands for "Liberty To Praise."  See 2 Corinthians 3:17.  LTP is a group of friends in the college-young adult age range who come together on Thursday nights for a casual time of prayer, worship, and Bible study.

2)  Where does LTP meet?

The worship center of Spring Creek Church of God (next door to East Ridge Hospital)

3)  When does LTP meet?

Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m.  [7:00 p.m. from May to August]

4)  Who comes to LTP?

College students-young adults from Spring Creek COG, other area churches of different denominations, and people who have no home church except for LTP.  We have part-time and full-time students.  We have those who are out of school that work full-time (and even some who are students and working)

5)  What is the "age range" of LTP?

High school graduate to 25

6)  How should I dress?

Very casual (jeans, shorts, etc.)  Most of us don't even wear shoes during the service.  After all, it is holy ground.

7)  How long does the service last?

We are usually finished between 8:45 and 9:00 p.m

8)  What "happens" at the service?

As you can tell from this website, LTP is not about glitz or glamour.  We are about friendship and God.  Therefore, when we come together on Thursday nights, we take time to share prayer needs and praise reports.  We pray.  We sing songs of praise and worship.  We study the Word of God.  We minister to each other in times of need.  We go out to eat Mexican food and have a great time together as friends.

9) How many people come to the service each week?

The 2005 average has been 10 college students-young adults each week.

10)  What is the "story" behind LTP?

LTP began as an idea over a dinner at IHOP between three friends.  The first service was held on Thursday, July 24, 2003, and has been going non-stop ever since.

11)  What does LTP believe?

Because we are an interdenominational group, we do not have an official statement of faith.  Quite simply, we believe the Bible.  If you have a specific question about doctrine, e-mail us.

12)  Does LTP receive an offering at the Thursday-night service?

Yes.  We do not expect visitors to give, only regular supporters.  All giving to LTP is tax-exempt.

13)  What does LTP do with it's money?

10 cents of every dollar given to LTP goes to the Spring Creek COG as tithe.  The other 90 cents is used to pay for LTP's social events (such as our "Fun, Food, and Fellowship Friday Nights") but most of our income goes into our Help & Hope For The Hurting Campaign

14) What if I don't go to church anywhere?  Can I still come to LTP?

Of course.  In fact, you will find that LTP is a comfortable place to begin your journey with the Lord.

15)  Does LTP do anything together besides the Thursday-night service?

As stated, the heart of LTP is friendship.  Therefore, it is not uncommon for us to get together during the week for dinner, movies, or just to hang out.
